Dexamenes Seaside Hotel is an industrial conversion where 1920s wine storage tanks meet minimalist design, its 34 rooms sitting directly on the Ionian Sea.
Dexamenes occupies a derelict wine factory on Kourouta Beach, transformed by K-Studio into one of Greece's most distinctive boutique hotels. Built in the 1920s during the currants-to-wine conversion that followed Greece's agricultural crisis, the winery loaded ships directly from beachside tanks via a network of pipes.
The 34 rooms occupy the original tanks, their 30-square-metre volumes fitted with steel frameworks, textured glass partitions and polished terrazzo floors. Exposed concrete walls retain their century-old patina while large sliding windows open to canopied terraces facing the Ionian. Coco-mat beds, pivoting mirrors and open wardrobes bring warmth to the industrial aesthetic. Reclaimed bricks line restaurant floors; old irrigation pipes serve as promenade railings.
