Stamna Sifnos
Stamna Sifnos is a sustainable Cycladic retreat where local craftsmanship meets contemporary design, its 20 rooms gazing east across the Aegean from Apollonia's hillside.

Stamna Sifnos occupies a 13,000-square-metre hillside plot above Apollonia, designed by Tsimpos and Associates with a 'from local to global' philosophy. Every material and craftsman was sourced within 80 nautical miles - marble from Tinos, Naxos and Paros; mortars mixed with Santorini earth; olive wood furniture handcrafted on the island.
The architecture follows the natural slope, divided into intimate volumes that echo traditional Cycladic homes. The 15 rooms and five suites feature east-facing terraces with Aegean views, custom olive wood furniture, and textiles of silk, linen and cotton from neighbouring islands. A colour palette of brick red (honouring Sifnos's pottery heritage), dusty blue, and leaf green grounds each space. Mediterranean gardens with preexisting olive and fig trees surround the buildings.
Chef Gikas Xenakis leads the culinary programme at Pilós restaurant, serving family-style Sifnian cuisine with uninterrupted sea views. Dishes include dolmadaki tartare, shrimp orzo, and traditional kalitsounia pies. The Bostani garden supplies vegetables, herbs, and fruit; daily yoga and meditation sessions take place in shaded garden clearings.
Named for the ceramic pot (stamna) that defines Sifnos's artistic heritage, the hotel brings contemporary sustainability to the Aegean's pottery capital. Kamares Beach, the Monastery of Chrissopigi, and the island's famous hiking trails lie within 15 minutes. A 2.5-hour fast ferry from Athens delivers visitors to one of the Cyclades' most authentic islands.
